The Bright Side

I’m a huge fan of tricks that make skin look fresher and glowier with the least possible fuss. Get your glow back with this action plan, devised by make-up artist Frances Prescott. It will introduce a whole lot of radiance and a little glimmer of sunshine. “Give skin an instant lift by stroking on Benefit Dew The Hoola Liquid Bronzer, £22.50,” says Frances.  “Focus on cheek bones, temples and your collar bone. Then massage in Sisley Sun Glow Gel in Mat, £49.05, which is fabulously sheer and gives a natural sun-kissed glow without look phony.” Want to pump up the bronze? Easy.  “Tap on a little Giorgio Armani Maestro Liquid Summer Bronzer, £40, concentrating the colour on cheeks, temples and the bridge of your nose.”

Soft Focus

Keep things light on the make-up front and focus on sheer textures, a hint of shimmer and defined lashes. "If you're keeping the emphasis on luminous skin, go minimal on make-up," says Frances. For wide-awake eyes, she swears by Benefit Roller Lash Super-Curling and Lifting Mascara, £19.50. "Finish by dusting on Laura Mercier Mineral Illuminating Powder in Candlelight, £26, to brows and cheek bones."

The Buff and the Smooth

Truth. Skin looks more radiant when it's smooth enough to reflect light. Get to work by buffing top-to-toe with a body polish, loofah or mitt. For smoother skin and a mood boost to boot, scrub up with Korres Basil Lemon Body Scrub, £12, a deliciously aromatic mix of herby Mediterranean basil and zesty lemon. Just the thing when energy levels are dipping, it's my go-to for an 'uplift' on a grey day.  For foolproof radiance, follow this expert advice. " When you're in the shower, massage in St Tropez Tan Enhancing Polish, £8.33, using small circular strokes," says Frances Prescott. Rinse off and when skin is still damp, apply a generous amount of Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Body Lotion, £3.75, an budget insider favourite for super-hydrated skin (with the bonus that it smells like chocolate!).

Fake freckles

Ray of Light

Personally,  I love freckles. So I was over-the-moon to see faux-freckles return to the 2016 Spring/Summer catwalks. At Ungaro, make-up artist Lucia Pieroni embellished the model's fresh faces with a sprinkling of freckles. For this shoot, Frances Prescott emphasised model Stephanie's natural freckly complexion with BareMinerals Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner in Lasting Brown, £15, dotting it on across cheeks and the bridge of her nose.
